Vista, CA (November 15, 2024) A deadly pedestrian accident occurred in Vista on October 23rd, 2024. 75-year-old Sergio Castaneda Mendoza was struck and killed at the intersection of Townsite Drive and East Vista Way, just after 10:00 p.m. A 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was heading through the intersection of Townsite Drive and East Vista Way in Vista. Lompoc, CA (November 15, 2024) The family of Daniel Arias Cortez, 23, continues to mourn his loss in Lompoc, following a hit-and-run collision. Cortez passed away at a hospital following the accident on February 10th, 2024. He was struck in Beattie Park on E. Olive Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. Cortez was walking on the evening of February 10th, when he was struck by a vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Gezel Viveros, the mother of Cortez’s two children.
