Fresno, CA (November 6, 2024) A pedestrian accident occurred in Fresno, claiming the life of 34-year-old Rudy Reyes. The accident occurred on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, around 8:00 p.m., on Blackstone Avenue, officers reported.
Initial reports indicated that Reyes was walking along Blackstone Avenue, near Swift Avenue, on October 26th, when he began crossing the street. It was 8 o’clock at night as he stepped off the curb and into the street to cross Blackstone Avenue, according to reports. As he crossed, a vehicle approached from the south and struck Reyes, knocking the pedestrian to the ground.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found Reyes on the ground, obviously injured. They hurried to this side and began performing life-saving measures. Paramedics at the scene loaded him into an ambulance and rushed him to a hospital in the area. Reyes held on for nearly two days before succumbing to his injuries. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital on October 28th, 2024.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to police officers. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this accident. The investigation remains ongoing and they work to determine what exactly happened.
