Windsor Hills, Los Angeles, CA (October 7, 2024) The community of Windsor Hills was shocked as news spread of a firefighter being hit by a vehicle. The accident occurred on Sunday morning, October 6th, 2024, at approximately 3:45 a.m. The driver struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene, officers reported.
Darkness covered Windsor Hills at 3:45 on Sunday morning, as a 59-year-old firefighter was on Stocker Street, not far from Palmero Boulevard. At this time, it isn’t known if the man was walking, jogging or just near the roadway at the time of the accident. Even so, a vehicle struck the man and, instead of stopping and waiting for authorities, fled the scene. The victim was left on the side of the road with serious injuries, according to reports.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department as well as the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground. It was obvious he had been stuck by a vehicle, but officers reported that there were no vehicles near the scene. Paramedics rushed to the man’s side and transported him, via ambulance, to a local hospital to receive treatment. Reports indicated that the firefighter is in stable condition.
Officers are working to find the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and bring the driver to justice. If anyone has any information regarding this hit-and-run collision, they are asked to contact the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
