Victorville, CA (September 26, 2024) A vehicle collided with a pole on Interstate 15 in Victorville on Sunday, September 22nd. The accident left two people with serious injuries after the vehicle wrapped around the pole, officers reported. The accident occurred just after 1:00 a.m., not far from Roy Rogers Drive off-ramp.
Many would consider 1:00 a.m. to be in the middle of the night, as vehicles headed along dark roads illuminated by street lights. At approximately 1:10 a.m., a vehicle was headed north on Interstate 15 when it suddenly veered off the freeway and crashed into a traffic pole. The impact was so severe that the vehicle became wrapped around the pole, officers reported. One person inside the vehicle became trapped and another occupant was critically injured.

The Victorville Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the vehicle crushed and wrapped around the pole. Firefighters used specialized tools to extricate one of the victims who had been trapped inside the vehicle. The person had sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and was taken to St. Mary Medical Center, via ambulance. A second person inside the vehicle was found with life-threatening injuries, according to reports. They were rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.
Officers are investigating this collision in an attempt to better understand what exactly happened. They want to know why the vehicle hit the pole in the first place.
