Livermore, CA (September 23, 2024) A tragic accident occurred in Livermore on Saturday evening, September 21st, 2024. A 24-year-old woman was struck by several vehicles after either jumping or falling out of a moving vehicle on the 580 Freeway, according to reports. It happened around 8:20 p.m., near First Street.
It was Saturday evening in Livermore as a 2018 Audi drove east along the 580 Freeway. For reasons that are still unknown, a 24-year-old woman riding in the passenger seat of the Audi suddenly either jumped out of the moving vehicle, or she fell, authorities reported. She landed on the freeway and was struck by several vehicles. Witnesses told authorities that the driver of the Audi pulled over momentarily, before hitting the gas and fleeing the scene.
The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene and found the woman on the freeway with fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene and a coroner was called. The driver of the Audi was later found and arrested on felony hit-and-run charges.
