Carlsbad, CA (September 12, 2024) A woman was tragically killed in a crash in Carlsbad on Tuesday, September 10. Her name was Karla Leyva.
The 23-year-old had parked her car in the 2200 block of Las Palmas Drive late that night. At about 12:30 in the morning, an oncoming vehicle struck her.
Authorities reported that Leyva was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details are still sparse. It’s unclear at this time if the driver that struck the victim stayed at the scene or if any impairment was involved.
