Darkness covered San Jose at 4:30 in the morning as vehicles traveled along Highway 101. Motorists began noticing someone on the ground under Story Road as they drove. 911 calls began pouring into dispatch, reports indicated. Officers with the California Highway Patrol went to the scene on northbound Highway 101 and found the victim lying on the ground under Story Road.

Officers rushed to the victim’s side, but sadly, he was already deceased. With heavy hearts, they pronounced them dead at the scene. Officers said it was obvious that the person had been hit by a large vehicle, which made this a hit-and-run case.
The CHP had to close the center and right lanes of the highway as they investigated the scene. They are working to piece together what happened to cause this fatal accident in San Jose. They are also determined to find the vehicle responsible and, in turn, find the driver and bring him or her to justice for this horrible accident.
