Las Vegas, NV (September 11, 2024) Tragedy swept through the north Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday morning, September 10th, 2024. A two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a 78-year-old passenger and injured the two drivers, according to reports. The accident occurred at the intersection of West Craig Road and North Commerce Street, around 9:00 a.m.
A gray SUV, driven by a 58-year-old, was heading west on West Craig Road when it suddenly ran a red light, according to reports. A white pickup truck, driven by a 45-year-old, was going through the intersection on a green light. Officers reported that the pickup was heading east on West Craig and making a left turn at the intersection. As the pickup turned, the SUV slammed into it.

The North Las Vegas Police Department quickly arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles. They quickly checked the vehicles, ready to give medical aid to anyone in need. They found a 78-year-old woman in the passenger seat of the SUV who had sustained life-threatening injuries. Officers reported that the woman was “going in and out of consciousness.” Paramedics rushed the woman to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Both drivers involved sustained non-life-saving injuries in the collision and received treatment at a local hospital. Officers requested tow trucks to come to the scene and remove the two damaged vehicles and crews began sweeping the debris from the roadway. Investigators are working to determine what happened to cause this collision in Las Vegas, as well as who was at fault.
