Ventura, CA (September 10, 2024) A devastating three-vehicle accident was caused by a drunk driver on Highway 126 in Ventura. One person lost their life and five others, including children, sustained injuries in the accident. It happened just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, not far from Wells Road.

A white 2011 Ford Ranger pickup truck and a silver 2015 Dodge Durango were driving along Highway 126 in Ventura on Thursday evening. Suddenly, a 2005 Toyota Sienna approached them from the opposite direction. Reports indicated that the Sienna was driven by a 25-year-old woman from Oxnard and headed down the center divider of the highway. Her vehicle collided with the Ford, sending the Ford crashing into the Dodge, according to reports. All three vehicles ended up colliding with a tree before coming to a stop with one of the vehicles on fire.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the three vehicles, all badly damaged. Fire firefighters first found a 56-year-old woman from Bakersfield trapped inside the Dodge. Using specialized tools, they quickly freed her and she was airlifted to Los Robles Regional Medical Center where, sadly, she later died from her injuries.

Two children and another woman were also found inside the Dodge with non-life-threatening injuries, officers reported. The drivers of the Ford and the Toyota were both injured as well. However, officers determined that the driver of the Toyota, a 25-year-old woman from Oxnard, was intoxicated. She was placed under arrest at the scene.

Our team at Accident News Now extends our deepest condolences to the family of the woman killed in this collision. We know this is a difficult time as you mourn this sudden loss. We would also like to wish those injured a full and speedy recovery. If you or someone you care about has been affected by this accident, call our legal team today!
