San Marcos, CA (September 9, 2024) A 76-year-old pedestrian was tragically killed in San Marcos around 9:10 p.m. on Friday, September 6.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said that the accident happened around 9:10 p.m. that night. A driver in a Toyota Camry was heading southbound on S. Twin Oaks Valley Road when they hit the pedestrian.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital for serious injuries. Sadly, they passed away there.
The driver remained at the scene. Impairment is reportedly not a factor in this crash.
Update (9/16): The victim has been identified as Francisca Garcia Vargas.
