Las Vegas, NV (August 30, 2024) Tragedy struck near the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday evening, August 29, 2024. A woman on a scooter was struck by an SUV and, sadly, did not survive. The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Twain Avenue and Valley View Boulevard, not far from I-15.
It was just before 5:00 p.m. in Las Vegas as a woman rode a scooter towards the intersection of Twain Avenue and Valley View Boulevard. For reasons that remain unknown, an SUV at the intersection struck the scooter. The impact sent the woman flying off the scooter, landing hard on the roadway. The accident blocked the intersection and caused major traffic issues, according to reports.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene and found the woman on the ground, motionless. They rushed to her side, ready to administer life-saving treatment. Unfortunately, the woman was killed in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, shocked and upset, and cooperated with authorities.
Officers called for a coroner to come to the scene and covered the victim’s body with a tarp. They investigated the scene and took statements from witnesses. They are determined to piece together what happened on that Las Vegas street.
