King City, CA (August 28, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of King City on Wednesday morning, August 21st, 2024. At approximately 7:00 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on Highway 101. Officers reported that the fatal accident happened near Broadway.
It was an early summer morning in King City as a pedestrian walked along Highway 101. Vehicles passed the pedestrian and no one thought anything of it, until one vehicle struck the person walking.The force threw the victim into the air before they landed on the ground a few feet away. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited for authorities.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground, motionless. Paramedics rushed to the victim’s side, ready to administer life-saving measures. However, the victim had been killed in the accident and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced them dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle cooperated with officers during their investigation, according to reports.
