Lancaster, CA (August 27. 2024) A tragic car accident occurred in Lancaster on Monday night, August 26th, 2024. It happened at the intersection of Avenue G and 30th Street West, right around 11:00 p.m. Sadly, 39-year-old Gregory Sherman Jr. lost his life in this collision, after his vehicle slammed into the back of a semi-trailer, according to reports.
Darkness had fallen over the community of Lancaster as vehicles drove through town. A semi truck pulling a trailer was traveling north on 30th Street West when the driver stopped to make a left turn on to Avenue G. At the same time, a man was driving a blue pickup truck east on Avenue G, according to reports. At approximately 11:00 p.m., the pickup truck slammed into the back of the semi-trailer, according to Jorge Diaz, a Los Angeles County Sheriff Detective.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to find the front of the pickup destroyed. Paramedics rushed to the pickup truck, only to find the driver had sustained fatal injuries. Sadly, Gregory Sherman Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are still working to determine exactly what happened to cause this fatal accident in Lancaster. A tow truck was called to remove the damaged pickup truck from the scene and crews cleaned the debris and glass from the roadway, reports indicated.
