Templeton, CA (August 12, 2024) A single-vehicle collision in Templeton on Sunday afternoon left three people with injuries, officers reported. Following the accident, the driver fled on foot, but was later arrested. One passenger was thrown from the vehicle, according to reports. It happened on River Road after the driver lost control on a curve.

A 15-year-old Paso Robles resident was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro on Sunday afternoon, August 11th. Reports indicated that the vehicle was heading north on River Road between 80 and 90 miles per hour with three occupants inside. The vehicle approached a curve and the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to speed off the roadway and roll multiple times before finally coming to a stop. The driver and the front passenger exited the vehicle and began fleeing on foot immediately after the accident.

They approached the vehicle and found that the backseat passenger hadn’t been wearing a seat belt and had been thrown from the car. Shockingly, they were still alive. Paramedics rushed to the victim’s side, ready to begin life-saving treatment. The passenger was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Officers noted that the driver of the vehicle was not in or near the car. They began looking and quickly found the driver and the front passenger not far from the scene. Both were apprehended and the 15-year-old driver was arrested. They face multiple charges, according to reports. Both also sustained injuries in the accident, according to reports.

Officers requested a tow truck to come to the scene and haul the badly damaged vehicle from the area. Crews began cleaning up the glass and debris that had been left in a trail along the roadway, as the vehicle rolled.
