Las Vegas, NV (July 29, 2024) A serious and traumatic collision occurred at a Las Vegas intersection on Sunday night, July 28th. The two-vehicle collision left a woman with critical injuries, according to police reports. It all happened at approximately 7:37 p.m. at the intersection of Winter wood Boulevard and South Nellis Boulevard.

A 2019 Chevrolet Trax headed south on Nellis Boulevard on Sunday evening. The Chevy attempted to make a left turn onto Winterwood Boulevard as a 2015 Honda Accord approached, heading north. According to LVMPD, the collision occurred when the Chevrolet crossed the path of travel of the Honda.

Reports indicated that the Honda hit the front right-side of the Chevy. The impact sent both of the vehicles spinning, officers reported, until they crashed into a block wall.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles near the block wall. Both vehicles had sustained serious damage in the accident and a trail of debris laid across the roadway. Paramedics found the occupants of both vehicles and sent them all to Sunrise Hospital to receive treatment for injuries. However, the 66-year-old woman driving the Chevy was in critical condition at the scene. She was also rushed to Sunrise Hospital where she remains in critical condition, according to reports.

Update: The 33-year-old driver of the Honda, Karen Mata, sustained moderate injuries.
