Brentwood, CA (July 29, 2024) A traumatic accident occurred on Highway 4 in Brentwood on Sunday afternoon, July 28th. Officers reported that the accident occurred right around 1:00 p.m., near Lone Tree Way. The accident left three people in critical condition, according to reports, and one with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

It was Sunday afternoon in the town of Brentwood as vehicles drove along Highway 4. A burgundy Toyota Tacoma, driven by a man with four passengers, was in the No. 1 lane of the highway. At the same time, a dark-colored pickup truck was pulling a trailer in the No. 2 lane right beside the Toyota. The pickup suddenly changed lanes, slamming into the Toyota, according to reports. The driver of the Toyota lost control of the vehicle, officers said, and it went into the center divider where it began to roll. Witnesses said the vehicle rolled several times as debris flew all around it, before it finally came to a stop on its roof.

Officers called for paramedics to come to the scene. Upon arrival, they determined that one of the victims needed to be airlifted to a hospital. Paramedics loaded the other three injured victims into ambulances and took them to a hospital in the area, according to reports. A medical helicopter landed and quickly took the fourth victim to a hospital to be treated. Thankfully, all four are expected to fully recovery, reports indicated.

Officers reported that the pickup pulling a trailer fled the scene following this horrible collision. Officers are asking that anyone with information regarding this collision contact the CHP Contra Costa division, which is located in Martinez, at 925-646-4980. Help them bring this suspect to justice!
