Oceanside, CA (July 15, 2024) A terrible accident occurred on Saturday morning in Oceanside.
At about 9:45 a.m. on July 13, a driver lost control of their Hyundai sedan while driving eastbound on Route 78. It’s not clear why this happened.
When they lost control, they exited the road near the 3800 block of Plaza Drive and crashed onto the lot of a gas station.
When paramedics arrived, they pronounced the passenger, 60-year-old John Edwards Jr., dead at the scene. The driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Their current condition has not been made available.
No other injuries were reported.
