Turlock, CA (June 30, 2024) An elderly, disabled man was on a scooter in Turlock on Friday morning, June 28th, when he was struck by a vehicle. Reports indicated that the collision occurred at the intersection of Regis Street and Geer Road right around 11:20 a.m. The scooter vs. vehicle accident left the scooter rider with serious injuries, reports indicated.
It was late Friday morning in Turlock as a disabled man rode a scooter that had a disabled license plate. As the elderly man rode, a sedan was approaching the intersection of Regis Street and Geer Road. Suddenly, the sedan struck the scooter, according to reports. The cause of this accident remain unknown. The force threw the man from the scooter, causing him to land on the ground. The driver of the sedan immediately came to a stop and waited for authorities to arrive at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers with the Turlock Police Department found the man on the ground with serious injuries. The scooter was laying on its side, busted and damaged, in the middle of the roadway. Officers hurried to the man’s side and discovered that he had sustained serious injuries in the accident. Paramedics arrived and took the scooter rider to a local hospital, via ambulance. His condition remains unknown.
Officers began investigating the accident and determined that speed, drugs and alcohol were not factors. They took a statement from the driver of the sedan and are diligently trying to piece together what caused this accident in Turlock.The scooter was hauled from the scene and crews quickly removed the debris that was left behind. Reports indicated that the driver of the sedan was not injured in this collision.
