Arden-Arcade, CA (June 16, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of Arden-Arcade on Tuesday morning as news spread of a fatal accident. The single-vehicle collision occurred around 4:13 a.m. and claimed one person’s life. Two others sustained serious injuries in the fiery accident, officers reported. It happened on Business 80, close to the Fulton Avenue on-ramp.
A vehicle headed north on Business 80 on Tuesday morning, June 25th. For reasons that remain unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the barrier on the right shoulder of the highway. Mere seconds later, the vehicle burst into flames, according to reports. Two passengers in the vehicles, a man and a woman, were both able to get out of the vehicle on their own as the fire spread. However, the driver remained in the car as it went up in flames.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the vehicle on fire, with the two passengers standing several feet away from it. Fire fighters arrive and quickly put out the flames, leaving the vehicles in a smashed and burnt state. Paramedics rushed to get to the driver, fearing the worst. Sadly, they did not survive the accident and were pronounced dead at the scene by officials. Paramedics evaluated the two passengers who were both seriously injured. They each had severe burns as well as other injuries from the initial collision, according to reports. They were both loaded into ambulances and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment to serious injuries, officers reported.
Detectives at the scene gathered evidence and took statements from witnesses. They are working to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this fatal accident on Business 80. Officers are determined to discover why the driver lost control of the vehicle that morning in Arden-Arcade.
