Sloughhouse, CA (June 17, 2024) The peaceful community of Sloughhouse was shaken by a head-on collision that occurred on Monday morning, June 17th. The accident left one person with serious injuries, officers reported. It all happened just after 7:00 a.m. on Highway 16 (also known as Jackson Road), not too far from Dillard Road.

Initial reports indicated that a white minivan and a red Ford Explorer SUV were both traveling along Highway 16 when, for reasons still unknown, they two vehicles collided, head-on. The impact forced the minivan down the north side of the highway where it went down an embankment. The red Ford SUV ended up in the middle of the roadway in the westbound lanes. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage in the collision, according to reports.

The 911 call was received by the Sacramento Fire Department and they quickly arrived at the scene. Paramedics hurried to the two vehicles to see if anyone inside was in need of medical attention. They found one person inside the minivan who had sustained serious injuries during the collision. The victim was taken to Kaiser South Sacramento Medical Center by ambulance to receive treatment for serious injuries.

Detectives wasted no time gathering evidence and taking statements from those involved as well as witnesses at the scene. They are working to determine what happened on Jackson Road to cause this head-on collision between the two vehicles. They are also eager to discover who was at fault in this injury accident. Officers called for a tow truck to come to the scene and remove both of the vehicles from the roadway. Glass and debris also littered the highway and crews worked as quickly as they could to clean up the mess in order for traffic to resume.
