    Nadia Ritchie, 29, Killed on 110 Freeway in Carson

    Carson, CA (June 17, 2024) A sad accident occurred on Sunday morning when a person was struck by a vehicle.

    According to reports, at around 3:40 a.m. Sunday morning, somebody hit a pedestrian with their car as they were coming up an onramp to the Harbor Freeway in Carson. A SigAlert was swiftly issued at about 4:12 a.m. It happened on the southbound freeway next to West Carson Street. Police discovered that the impact of the collision killed the pedestrian. Her name was Nadia Ritchie, and she was 29.

    Authorities closed the onramp and the slow lane as they investigated the accident, the California Highway Patrol says.

    According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, 893 pedestrians were killed on California roadways in 2018, the most recent year of data. It happens far too often, and officials encourage pedestrians to be aware of their surroundings and walk with the utmost caution. They also encourage drivers to be extra alert and careful as they navigate the roads.
