Concord, CA (June 14, 2024) A tragedy occurred on Sunday of last week on Highway 242 in Concord. A man on foot was struck and killed by a car travelling down the road.
The pedestrian who lost his life in the terrible accident was named Daniel Cervantes. He was 62 years old.
The car that hit Mr. Cervantes was reportedly a burgundy Tesla Model 3. The driver was heading southbound on Highway 242, and they were in the fast lane. Suddenly, they hit Daniel Cervantes. At this time, it is unclear why Daniel Cervantes was on foot.

The California Highway Patrol stated that this incident occurred at about 5 a.m. just south of Clayton Road. Details are still coming out about what happened as the investigation goes on. Witnesses are encouraged to reach out to CHP’s Contra Costa office.
