Antelope Valley, CA (April 29, 2024) Pearblossom Highway has shown itself to be deadly over the past 24 hours. A crash occurred on this highway right around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29th. Officers said this is the second deadly accident to happen on this one mile stretch of highway in the past 10 hours. This fatal accident occurred near Hampel Avenue and, sadly, claimed one person’s life.
It was so early that it was still dark outside. Vehicles drove along the Pearblossom Highway, headlights and taillights filling up the dark morning sky. Suddenly, at Hampel Avenue road, there was a collision. A gray minivan was scene with airbags deployed and major damage, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found the minivan, partially on the grassy shoulder of the highway. Debris littered the ground all around it and the inside was covered in the remains of deployed airbags. Officers rushed to the vehicle, ready to give life-saving treatment to anyone in need. Sadly, they found the driver deceased and pronounced them dead at the scene.
At this point, officers are not certain what happened or even how many vehicles were involved. However, they are investigating and are determined to learn what exactly caused this deadly accident and who was liable. Once the coroner left and officers had finished gathering evidence, a tow truck had to remove the minivan from the scene. Crews cleaned up the debris that was left behind and officers continue to work the case.
