El Monte, CA (April 28,3034) News of a deadly hit-and-run accident spread quickly through El Monte on Saturday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. in the intersection of Garvey Avenue and Chico Avenue, reports indicated. A vehicle struck the pedestrian in a crosswalk and fled the scene, leaving the victim with life-threatening injuries.
It was Saturday morning, April 27th, as a pedestrian walked through El Monte. At approximately 7:20 a.m., the pedestrian began crossing the street at the intersection of Garvey Avenue and Chico Avenue. Reports indicated that the pedestrian was walking within a crosswalk when, suddenly, a light-colored sedan drover through the intersection and hit the pedestrian. The driver didn’t stop, but instead, hit the gas and fled the scene. The pedestrian was left alone in the middle of the intersection with life-threatening injuries.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department hurried to the scene and found the pedestrian lying in the middle of the road. Paramedics rushed to give life-saving measures, but the victim’s injuries were too severe. The pedestrian succumbed to the injuries in the middle of the intersection and was, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
Investigators with the Temple Sheriff’s Station are leading this hit-and-run investigation. They are determined to find the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and, in doing so, locate the driver as well. Their goal is to bring the driver to justice for this fatal hit-and-run accident.
