Livermore, CA (April 18, 2024) One person tragically lost their life in a multi-vehicle collision in Livermore on Thursday morning, April 18th. The fatal accident occurred on Interstate Highway 580 just after 9:00 a.m., officers said. Officers said two semi-trucks and a motorcycle were involved in the collision.
Interstate Highway 580 was fairly busy by 9:00 a.m. in Livermore on Thursday. Shortly after 9:00, a motorcycle collided with two semi-trucks. Officers are still uncertain about the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash, but but a witness at the scene said that a gray Nissan and a Mercedes-Benz were also involved in this deadly crash. The California Highway Patrol received the call about the collision at approximately 9:06 a.m., reports indicated.
Officers with the CHP arrived at the scene and found two semi-trucks stopped in the road and a damaged motorcycle lying in the middle of the roadway. The rider was down on the ground and traffic was backed up due to the accident. Officers had to close five lanes of the westbound Highway 580 following the accident.
Paramedics rushed to the motorcyclist’s side and found the rider unresponsive. The performed life-saving measures but the rider’s injuries were too extensive. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 9:30 a.m. Offices covered the victim’s body and called the coroner.
There is no information as to whether or not anyone else was injured in this Livermore collision. Officers took statements from witnesses and gathered evidence at the scene as they investigated this fatal collision on Highway 580.
