Salinas, CA (April 7, 2024) A tragic accident took place at B C Systems in Salinas on Friday afternoon, April 5th. A man, possibly an employee, was struck by a semi-truck on the loading docks of the company and sustained fatal injuries, according to reports. The devastating accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. and left the company, as well as the surrounding community, in shock.
It was just after 4:04 p.m. at B C Systems, located at 1341 Merrill Street in Salinas, as semi-trucks came and went with loads. One of these semi-trucks was leaving the docks when he ran over a man, according to reports. The truck driver immediately stopped and got our of the big rig. Someone called 911 and employees waited for authorities to arrive. Shock and disbelief spread through employees as police officers began to arrive at the company.
The truck driver cooperated with authorities and others spoke with officers, relaying what they saw. Paramedics rushed to the man’s side, ready to give life-saving measures. Sadly, the man had been killed in the accident and, with heavy hearts, officials pronounced him dead at the scene. Officers do not believe the truck driver was impaired at the time of the collision and are working to determine what exactly happened at the loading docks of B C Systems in Salinas.
