Rancho Cordova, CA (March 29, 2024) A Rancho Cordova intersection became dangerous for a young pedestrian on Wednesday night. A juvenile female was crossing the street at approximately 9:30 p.m., when she was struck by not one, but two vehicles in the intersection. One of the vehicles fled the scene after the accident, according to authorities.

The girl was walking as she approached the intersection of International Drive and Zinfandel in Rancho Cordova. She began crossing the street when she was suddenly hit by a vehicle, according to reports. The force knocked her down as a second vehicle came through the intersection and also struck her. The pedestrian remained on the ground with serious injuries following this horrible accident.

Officers arrived at the scene and found that one of the drivers had stopped, but the other fled the scene, making this a hit-and-run. The driver cooperated with authorities during their investigation and shared any information they had about the vehicle that fled.

Paramedics rushed to give aid to the pedestrian who sustained major injuries in this collision. She was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a nearby hospital to receive emergency treatment. Emergency medical personnel said that while the girl’s injuries are serious, they expect her to make a full recovery.

Officers are working to determine what type of vehicle fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian in Rancho Cordova. They are determined to find the driver and bring him or her to justice.
