San Diego, CA (March 18, 2024) Tragedy struck on Interstate 5 in San Diego on Monday morning when one person was killed in a collision on the freeway transition road to the Cabrillo (163) Freeway.
It was still dark outside as traffic headed up and down Interstate 5 in San Diego. At approximately 5:20 a.m., a crash on the interstate occurred, claiming one person’s life.
The California Highway Patrol hurried to the scene and found the damaged vehicles in the northbound lanes of the interstate. Paramedics rushed to help anyone who was injured and found one person with life-threatening injuries. At this time, authorities are unsure if the person was killed in the collision or if they were taken to the hospital where they later died.
Authorities are investigating this accident to determine what actually caused it and who was at fault.
