Florence, Los Angeles, CA (March 4, 2024) The area of Florence in Los Angeles was shocked on Sunday night following a hit-and-run collision that left 46-year-old Ronald Huntley dead. The Los Angeles Police Department said the fatal accident happened right at 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of 81st Street and Avalon Boulevard. The driver did not stop following the accident, but continued driving until they were out of sight.

It was dark outside as a pedestrian walked through the area of Florence in Los Angeles. A white-colored sedan approached and struck the pedestrian as he crossed Avalon Boulevard. The driver then fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police officers that the vehicle was last seen heading south on Avalon Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officers David Cuellar.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found Huntley lying on the roadway, unresponsive. Paramedics did everything they could, but he could not be saved. With heavy hearts, they pronounced Huntley dead at the scene and covered him with a canopy as they awaited the coroner’s arrival.
