Northridge, CA (December 7, 2023) Michael Gershon, 37, was struck and killed by a Metrolink Train in Northridge on Wednesday, December 6th. The Los Angeles Police Department said the accident occurred in the 8900 block of Corbin Avenue just after 6:00 p.m.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man on the ground, unresponsive. Sadly, Gershon died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers contacted the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiners, who identified the victim on Thursday, December 7th, as Michael Gershon. Officers said that Gershon was unhoused at the time of the accident.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the incident is still under investigation. Authorities do not know why Gershon was on the tracks or what caused him to be hit by the train. Investigators hope to determine all of this in their investigation.
