Cincinnati, OH (December 4, 2023) 63-year-old Phalanza Francisco was killed in a collision on Interstate 71 in Cincinnati on Friday, December 1st, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. The accident took place at approximately 10:12 a.m. near State Route 562 to Ridge Avenue exit ramp.

Upon arrival, officers found that a 49-year-old man was driving a Toyota 4 Runner north on the exit ramp. For reasons unknown, he slammed into the concrete wall. The driver didn’t mention that he was injured after the collision. However, a 63-year-old passenger in the Toyota 4 Runner was found with life-threatening injuries in the back seat. He was rushed to UC Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, according to authorities. He was later identified by the medical examiner as Phalanza Francisco.
After investigating the scene and speaking to witnesses, officers determined that excessive speed was a factor in this deadly collision. They also believe that impairment was a factor as well. No arrests have been made at this time, but officers are still investigating this fatal accident in Cincinnati on I-71.
