Apple Valley, CA (November 20, 2023) A driver was airlifted to a trauma center after crashing through a residential backyard of an Apple Valley home on November 9th, 2023. The Apple Valley Fire Protection District said the collision occurred in the 15600 block of Pohez Road just before 5:30 p.m.
Officers reported that the driver was in a pickup truck head down Symeron Road when, for reasons unknown, he lost control of his vehicle. He ended up driving down a vacant dirt lot before he crashed into the backyard of a Pohez Road house.

The Apple Valley Fire Protection District arrived at the scene and found the driver seriously injured. They called for a helicopter to come to the scene and transport the driver to a hospital for treatment. A Mercy Air helicopter arrived in the neighborhood and the driver was carefully loaded and flown to an out-of-area trauma center for treatment. There has been no update on the driver’s condition at this time.
Officers still don’t know why the driver lost control of the vehicle, but are investigating the accident to try and determine what exactly happened on Pohez Road. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the pick up truck that had crashed into the residential back yard.
