Los Angeles, CA (November 15, 2023) 66-year-old Bibiana Retana-Sosa was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. The driver fled the scene following the collision in the Arlington Heights area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The fatal collision occurred around 6:40 a.m. on November 14th at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Venice Boulevard. Police officers said that Bibiana Retana-Sosa was attempting to cross the street northbound on Venice Boulevard, in a marked crosswalk, when she was struck by a white Mazda. Los Angeles Police officers said the car had a California license plate with the number 8XHG132. The vehicle continued heading east on Venice Boulevard after the collision.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman lying in the intersection. She was pronounced dead at the scene and officers called for a medical examiner to the Arlington Heights area.
The City of Los Angeles has a standing reward offer of $50,000 for information leading to the suspect’s whereabouts, identification and arrest.
