SACRAMENTO, CA (NOVEMBER 7, 2023): A person was fatally struck by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident in Sacramento on Monday night.
According to Sacramento authorities, the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. near Northgate Boulevard and Winterhaven Avenue, when a vehicle struck a pedestrian under unclear circumstances.

Emergency personnel responded to call of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle shortly after. Upon the arrival of authorities, the victim was discovered unresponsive and lying in the roadway. Officers attempted to administer first-aid until the arrival of life medics, who then took over.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries and died at the facility. Identifying information has not been released about the victim.
The motorist remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Drugs or alcohol have not been stated as contributing factors to this collision. A description of the vehicle was not made public.
