Merced County, CA (October 25, 2023) – 59 year old male Douglas McIntire sadly passed away on Sunday, October 22nd, following a tragic motorcycle crash on Highway 152 in Merced County, California. According to reports from the Merced SunStar the accident was reported around 11:22 p.m., occurring near Gonzaga Road in the Los Banos area.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident and found that the victim had been riding 2022 Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on the highway approaching the Gonzaga off-ramp, somehow failing to realize in time that the exit was marked closed. The rider collided with a wooden “road closed” sign and lost control of the motor bike. This led to McIntire colliding with a parked 2013 Freightliner truck.

McIntire was severely injured in the crash and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported at the site.
Police are investigating the incident that led to Douglas McIntire’s death, including whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
