Indio, CA (October 24, 2023) A 24-year-old Daniel Hernandez, from Thermal, was killed after colliding with another vehicle in Indio on Sunday afternoon. Indio Police Department spokesperson, Ben Guitron told City News Service that the accident occurred at that intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Monroe Street around 12:24 p.m.

Officers believe the motorcyclist was traveling down Monroe Street, nearing San Jacinto Avenue, when he collided with another vehicle in the intersection. Guitron said they arrived at the scene and found Hernandez lying in the road, unresponsive. Officers performed life-saving measures on Hernandez, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. by the Riverside County Coroner’s office.
The motorcycle was removed from the roadway and officers investigated the scene to learn who was at fault and what exactly caused the accident. The Indio Police Department said their Traffic Unit investigators are working with the coroner’s office in this investigation.
