Escondido, CA (October 13, 2023) 1 person died in a fiery crash on Interstate 15 in Escondido on Friday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place at West El Norte Parkway and I-15 around 3:12 a.m.

Escondido Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol were both at the scene. Authorities said an unknown vehicle flew off the northbound Interstate 15 freeway and crashed into an embankment. The vehicle then exploded and became engulfed in flames, according to the CHP traffic incident report.
Authorities are investigating this collision to determine what exactly happened to cause this fiery accident in Escondido.
