Arden-Arcade, CA (October 12, 2023) A driver was arrested early Thursday morning after crashing their car into a garage, according to police officers. The homeowners said the collision woke them up around 3:00 a.m. and they called 911.
The owners of the Arden Way home said they were sleeping when they heard a loud bank followed by a crash. The man said he jumped out of bed and went to the garage to see what had happened. To his surprise, he found a Toyota Prius in his garage. The car had crashed through the garage and pushed his car, which had been parked inside the garage, through the back wall of the garage.

The driver of the Prius tried to leave the scene, but then got back inside the car. The homeowner said he tried to get the driver to turn off the car’s engine while his wife called 911.
Police officers and firefighters showed up immediately. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was arrested at the scene for suspicion of DUI. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained during the collision.
