A pedestrian died in a tragic accident on Wednesday, August 9th, after they were hit by a truck on Highway 101 near San Martin Avenue in San Martin. According to the Califronia Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 12:33 a.m. in Santa Clara County.
The victim was driving a utility truck on the freeway. Before the accident he had pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle, presumably due to car or engine trouble. Unfortunately another truck on the southbound side of the freeway, struck the victim while he was outside his vehicle, causing massive injury.
Paramedics arrived to treat the victim and transported them to a hospital for treatment. Sadly, the doctors and paramedics were unable to save the truck driver.
The driver of the other truck stopped and has cooperated with authorities. Police are investigating the case to understand why the victim was hit by a truck on Highway 101.
