A man was killed on Saturday, July 30th. in a tragic highway 13 pedestrian crash. The incident took place around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 13 and Park Boulevard in Oakland, CA.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the victim was walking in the road on Highway 13 when the driver of a black Toyota Sedan struck the victim. The driver pulled over to the side of the road to try to help.

Other vehicles had to swerve to avoid hitting the male victim. Eventually, an off-duty police officer blocked the lane with his SUV to protect the victim from other cars.
Unfortunately, the man’s injuries were fatal and he was declared dead at the scene. The CHP are continuing to investigate the Highway 13 pedestrian crash.
