Beaumont, CA (May 2, 2023) An elderly woman, by the name of Pla Khang, was fatally struck by a truck while walking on a Beaumont street, authorities reported today.
Pla Khang, 84, from Banning, was tragically hit around 8:40 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Highland Springs Avenue and Sixth Street, as per the Beaumont Police Department.
The department stated that Khang was walking on Sixth Street in an unspecified direction when the large truck collided with her.

The driver promptly stopped, according to the police. Onlookers dialed 911, and Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived within minutes, pronouncing the victim dead at the site of the incident.
Police officers questioned the truck driver, who was found to be sober and subsequently allowed to leave the scene, the police department confirmed.
