(Blythe, CA) Six people were hospitalized Sunday morning, February 15, after a three-vehicle collision in a Neighbors Boulevard crash.

Riverside County Fire Department crews responded around 11:30 a.m. to the intersection of Neighbors Boulevard and 14th Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple damaged vehicles and several injured occupants. One person required extrication from a vehicle before paramedics could begin treatment.

According to the fire department, two people suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to a hospital by helicopter. Four others sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported by ground ambulance for further care. A seventh person involved in the crash was evaluated at the scene but declined additional medical treatment.

Officials did not release the names, ages, or cities of residence of those involved. Authorities also did not clarify how the three vehicles collided or which direction each was traveling at the time of impact. That information remained unavailable as the investigation continued.

The California Highway Patrol assumed responsibility for investigating the cause of the collision. Officers did not announce any arrests and did not indicate whether speed, right-of-way issues, or impairment may have contributed. Investigators continued reviewing evidence and speaking with witnesses to determine what led to the Neighbors Boulevard crash.

Analysis on the Neighbors Boulevard Crash

When multiple vehicles collide at a city intersection, investigators review traffic safety laws to understand what factors may have contributed, without assigning fault prematurely. These reviews often focus on right-of-way, speed, and safe turning movements.

Because the crash occurred at an intersection, authorities may examine the Failure to Yield at Intersection Law. This law requires drivers turning or entering traffic to yield to vehicles that pose an immediate hazard. Investigators may review vehicle paths and signal timing to understand how the collision unfolded.

If speed becomes part of the review, officials could also consider the Basic Speed Law. This law requires motorists to travel at speeds reasonable for traffic, visibility, and roadway conditions. Even in residential or semi-rural areas, excessive speed can increase crash severity.

Investigators may further look at the Unsafe Turning Law if lane changes or turning maneuvers are involved. This law requires drivers to ensure movements can be made with reasonable safety. These considerations help guide CHP’s evaluation of the Neighbors Boulevard crash as the investigation continues.

    Support for the Family

If you are supporting someone injured in this crash, staying in contact with investigators can help you receive updates and request official CHP reports when they become available.

You may also consider speaking with a qualified legal professional to better understand your options after a serious multi-vehicle collision. Emotional support from family members, friends, or counseling services can also be important as you cope with the stress and uncertainty that follow a traumatic event.

If you have any concerns about navigating the legal process surrounding this incident, call 866-883-4318 to speak with a lawyer.
