(Reseda, CA) A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in a Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision near an intersection in Reseda.

On Tuesday, August 12, at 8 p.m., the Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision occurred. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened near the intersection of Lindley Avenue and Kittridge Street.

When LAPD officers arrived at the crash site,, they found an overturned sedan and a motorcycle on the ground. Paramedics came and transported the rider to a hospital in critical condition. The sedan driver’s condition was not immediately known. Police are investigating the Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision to determine the cause.

Legal Opinion on the Lindley Avenue Motorcycle Collision

The Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision raises significant legal issues under California’s traffic safety laws. Collisions between motorcycles and passenger vehicles often involve violations of California Vehicle Code 21801, which governs left turns and requires a driver to yield to oncoming traffic until it is safe to proceed. If the sedan turned in front of the motorcycle, failed to yield, or otherwise entered the rider’s path, that would be strong evidence of negligence. Additionally, VEH 22350, the Basic Speed Law, requires all drivers to travel at a safe speed for conditions. Either party could be at fault if speed or inattention played a role in the Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision.

Motorcyclists face a higher risk of severe injury in collisions because they lack the protection of an enclosed vehicle. The fact that paramedics transported the rider to the hospital in critical condition suggests a high-impact crash. Investigators will analyze skid marks, vehicle damage, and any surveillance or dashcam footage to reconstruct the sequence of events. They will also interview witnesses to determine whether either party ran a red light, failed to stop at a sign, or changed lanes unsafely in violation of VEH 22107.

The injured rider has the right to file a personal injury claim if evidence shows the sedan driver’s negligence caused the Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision. Compensation can cover medical bills, lost wages, future care needs, and pain and suffering. If the rider was partially at fault—for example, by speeding or lane-splitting unsafely—California’s comparative negligence law would still allow recovery, but damages would be reduced by the rider’s share of responsibility.

    What the Victim Can Do

The rider should immediately contact a personal injury attorney experienced in motorcycle accidents. The attorney can work with LAPD to obtain the collision report of the Lindley Avenue motorcycle collision. Medical documentation from the hospital will be essential in proving the extent of injuries and estimating future care costs. If available, nearby traffic cameras or business surveillance footage could provide decisive evidence about fault.
