Bakersfield, CA (April 2, 2024) A head-on collision claimed one person’s life on Saturday morning in Bakersfield. The two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 178, near Doyle Ranch Road in the small town of Weldon, near Bakersfield. It occurred just before 10:30 a.m. between Onyx and Weldon, according to officers.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found two vehicles that had obviously been involved in a crash. Debris littered the roadway and paramedics hurried to give medical aid to anyone who needed it. Sadly, they found one person who did not survive the collision. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene and waited for the coroner to arrive.
Officers gathered evidence at the scene and continue to investigate the accident. The two vehicles collided, head-on, and officers are determined to figure out what happened on Highway 178 that morning. They also hope to determine who was at fault in this fatal collision.
