Jorge Andres Delgado of Santa Ana drove a BMW the wrong way on Main Street, said Garcia. Driving at a high rate of speed, Delgado slammed into a vehicle driven by Leticia Placencia Alvarado. As a result of the North Main Street crash, Alvarado and Delgado were pronounced dead.

Five others, ages 39, 19, 18, 11 and 1 sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported the five victims to a hospital, expecting all of them to survive. It’s unclear why Jorge Andres Delgado drove against traffic, but investigators suspect it was intentional, according to Garcia.
