Coachella, CA (January 24, 2024) A routine Sunday afternoon drive turned serious when two vehicles collided in Coachella. The crash occurred at approximately 4:39 p.m. near Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport, according to authorities. The 2-vehicle collision left 6 people with injuries. While 4 of those only sustained minor injuries, the other 2 received major injuries during the crash.

The Riverside County Fire Department stated that the accident took place at the intersection of Harrison Street and Airport Boulevard on Sunday, January 21st. Officers arrived at the scene to find two damaged vehicles and a roadway covered in debris. Paramedics rushed to help those who were injured. Two of the victims were in serious condition, officers said. They were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Officers still aren’t sure what exactly happened on Airport Boulevard on Sunday evening. The cause of the wreck and the person at fault are still a mystery, but investigators are working diligently to determine what happened to cause this accident in Coachella.
